Greetings from Mrs. Deutsch
I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jenny Deutsch and I am your student’s art teacher. I began teaching art with Omaha Public Schools in 2005. Over the past several years I have been able to support art education in multiple elementary schools.
Originally I am from South Dakota, and early in life I realized that I wanted a career that included my two favorite topics - children and art. I received my Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) and K-12 teaching certificate from the University of South Dakota. My emphasis was in oil painting, and I continue to try to learn everything new about the art world! I received my Masters of Science in Secondary Education with an Emphasis in Art from the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 2009. I have also completed my ESL (English as a Second Language) endorsement from Concordia University in the spring of 2011.
My goals as an art teacher are to help my students discover the joy and beauty of the world of art, find personal success and a creative outlet. Each grade level has a unique focus, and all art lessons are based on the National Art Content Standards. I strive to create meaningful art experiences that focus on production, history and aesthetics. Don’t forget to ask your artists what they are working on!
Thank you for supporting art education!
I travel to multiple schools, please contact the school for my schedule if you would like to set up a meeting
